Never believe that you are bigger than Gene October
Chelsea are Punk Rock. Some say they invented the word, the style and the attitude to go with it but somewhere on-route they took a trip down a blind cul-de-sac and ended up in a time warp surrounded by overweight, third rate support acts. When The Clash, the Pistols and The Stranglers moved to the next level we were given icons of historical importance.
Fronted by one time gay porn star Gene October, his worn face is contradicted by his youthful glow. Cast from the same mould as Stuart Pearce, Ian Brown, Iggy Pop and Keith Richards, they are a breed of people who never stop believing, never stop playing the game and always do it for the love and the passion. Gene October is the youngest man in the building as he toys with his audience, floods down enormity, arrogance, poise, sweat and an ever audacious grin as they collectively detonate an elongated Right to Work.
Chelsea missed out on global fame but are loved by enough people in every town in every part of the world to keep it worthwhile. Gene October will return as the Godfather of Punk next year with the release of a collaboration album with a songwriter of much local importance.
Gene October has been born again. Never believe that you are bigger than Gene October.

Songs by Canadians
Songs by Canadians are a Notts based four piece who hit a joyous trip-hop vibe showering down electro/acoustic soundscapes that touch base with Moloko and Mandalay with their low lying baselines and desperate melodies.
By Design and Suggestion are their most attractive tracks with a mournful desire as they take us closer to dusky downbeat groove of the darkside. To go all the way they could get a tighter grip on the loop, work the synths and fx more, let loose the space and give us a little more celestial hop for the trip.
